We are proud to announce the United Auto Workers CAP Council and its Officers endorsed John Cherry in his run for State Representative in the 49th District. The district includes the cities of Mt. Morris and Swartz Creek, Flushing and a portion of the City of Flint, and all of Flint Township and Mt. Morris Township.

John Cherry believes in the same values that make the UAW strong. As newly elected UAW President Gary Johnson stated at their recent convention in Detroit, “The UAW’s idea of a middle class has meant organized opposition to anti-union interests, wherever they may be. We will fight for our retirees, for our active members and for members to come. We will stand up for civil rights, for gender equality, and for families and workers everywhere. We have a history of right on our side.”  “Michigan’s working families are not the enemy. As a state, we should be doing everything we can to reward hard work, have a strong education system for our young people, good paying jobs for workers and a secure and dignified retirement for our seniors. These are the same values the UAW believes in and promotes. I am thankful to the members for their endorsement. I look forward to working at the state level to make these goals a reality,” said John Cherry.
